Electric Sheep Screensaver

The Electric Sheep Screensaver is a really great screensaver that was created by Scott Draves. It changes all the time because while you're AFK your computer is interacting with other computers to create interesting art.

When these computers "sleep", the screen saver comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as "sheep". The result is a collective "android dream", an homage to Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.

this is nifty. although i have to say, when i first saw the title of this post come up in the blogcatalog feed, i thought of those little sheep that were all the rage about 5 years ago. it was a little program you could keep open on your computer and a little white ram with purple horns would run all over your screen. you could click on them to make them do stuff. i miss those. i wonder if i could find one to download without crashing my computer...

This Makes My Day: I hope it works well for you! I haven't tried it out yet since my computer has been complaining for the past couple days but I'll get around to it sooner or later, I'm sure.

d.funkt: I remember those things! Man, I'm glad I don't have one of those things right now since I already get distracted enough when I'm trying to work here.
