Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi-
It's difficult to describe this one without giving too much away. Well, for starters this anime is centered around a boy and girl named Sasshi and Arumi whose families own businesses in the Abenobashi commercial district in Osaka. An accident occurs which makes their lives very, very weird. They get transported to a bunch of alternate realities with very strange (and sometimes hilarious) themes. This series touches on all sorts of pop culture phenomena and is a little heavyhanded with sexual innuendos and fart jokes.
Gun X Sword-
Now this one I just started watching but it's fantastic so far. If you like Trigun, you'll probably love this one. The protagonist is a tuxedoed man named Van who has a shapeshifting sword and his most notable personality quirk is that he's obsessed with condiments. As far as "weird anime" goes this one is borderline but it has enough strange characters and weird things going on that I feel alright about putting it on this list.
Paranoia Agent-
I can't make a list of weird (but pretty good) anime without including Paranoia Agent.
A community is terrorized by an assailant appropriately nicknamed "Lil' Slugger" because he beats his victims with a baseball bat....but there's more going on here than that. This is a very strange psychological thriller type story wrought with bizarre occurences and twists and things aren't quite as they might seem.
Midori Days (Midori No Hibi)-
This one starts off with a tough guy named Seiji who wakes up one day with a miniature girl where his right hand used to be. I really, really thought this one would be awful but I couldn't resist it. I was pleasantly surprised that it was quite watchable and pretty funny in parts even if they do use some of the gags that you would expect from a show like this (if I made this anime I'm sure I'd have to do it too).

Steambot
Here's a new design I've been working on. I hope you like him! (And I'm sure he looks a lot less blurry on the real button. For some reason the diminished size isn't doing him any favours.)
This is probably a good time show you this. Here's an instructable on how to make your very own Steampunk Finger Stylus. Now, I'm not sure I'll ever really need to do this but it sure is cool.

Mimobots
Mimobots are little usb flashdrives in fun designs and the mimoco site has grown immensely since I last checked. Now they have a Halo series, a Domokun series and a Star Wars series (though my favourites are sold out). At least they still have Boba Fett.
Though these are sort of old news I still think they're worth mentioning...plus, Galacula (pictured on the right) is the best.
Apparently Japan has a new Ambassador...Doraemon. Yes, the cartoon cat. Wow.

Frankenberry
Frankenberry has always been my favorite of the General Mills monster-themed breakfast cereals. Growing up in Canada it was very rare to be able to find it and I would usually only get to see it during very fortunately timed trips across the border. I always drooled when the commercials would come on during the cartoons on saturday mornings though and I swore that when I was an adult I would buy all of these rare sugary cereals that I could get my hands on. I envisioned a closet full of my favourites so that I could have a different cereal every day of the week.
Now I eat bran flakes, go figure.
I still love Frankenberry though. I recently found out that there are Frankenberry, Booberry and Count Chocula kubricks now. They're just perfect.
I'm not a bobblehead collector but there are a couple different Frankenberry bobbleheads out there. I have to say that I prefer the top one.
There's even a frankenberry halloween costume. Yep...that's a costume.
Also check out my frankencream monster ice cream products for cute vampire and frankenstein ice cream cones on tshirts, buttons, stickers and more!

Bunnybeard
There are some new captain bunnybeard pirate ship items in my Bunnybeard Shop! Feel free to stop in and have a look if you like pirates or bunnies or you're amused by the idea of rabbits who plunder.
Since this post is pirate themed I thought I'd share a link about some real buried treasure on a tiny island off the coast of Nova Scotia. The story is fascinating and I can't help but wonder where the treasure came from. The article has some interesting theories about that.
I've been watching the anime series Last Exile lately and I feel that it's a good time to mention it. This is a steampunkish series with gorgeous animation and very detailed sky ships and scenery. The protagonists are young couriers named Claus and Lavie who have to deliver some mysterious cargo to the battleship "Silvana". Though most of the action occurs in the sky, the ships do battle with eachother while in flight and the protagonists encounter obstacles such as pirates which is why I'm including it in this post. That's all I'm going to mention here for fear of spoiling it for you but I highly recommend it.
Archie Mcphee has some pretty great pirate stuff for sale including these magnets. They also sell some grogflavored mints but I can't be sure the grog flavor should be a selling point since I've never tasted grog.

Submunition
Questionaut is a really beautiful game from Amanita Design. If you have some spare time I recommend giving it a try because the art alone is worth it and the premise is pretty clever.
I've been spending some time today navigating the skies since Google Sky has been released. I really can't get enough of it. Don't forget to take a peek at the Spitzer Infrared Showcase.
This was a great image that I found from Ian Boyd on flickr.
Finally, here's a new Submunition cartoon skull bomb design!

Monstercream
Here's a great instructable for Mad Scientist Lights. I may have to make these sometime for some steampunk inspired lighting in my apartment.
