Key To The City Ring

When I was growing up many of my favorite books involved keys and what they symbolize has always been interesting to me. This whimsical Key To The City Ring is a golden key that's been transformed into a beautiful ring!

Milk Glass LED Lamp

This may look like an ordinary glass of milk (aside from the fact that it appears to be glowing eerily) but it's really an LED lamp (which explains the eerie glowing). The lamp turns on when it's upright and it turns off when it's placed upside down.

Brainforest

Booooooom.com has made a fantastic post about this piece of art by Gerda Steiner and Jorg Lenzlinger named "Brainforest". The photos are incredible and though I've only included a couple in this post I can assure you that I had a very difficult time choosing just one or two.
Click here to see the rest!

KAI P. Dental floss dispenser

This KAI P. Dental Floss Dispenser by Koziol is shaped like a cute little fish with really big, sharp teeth. I don't think I doubt this guy's ability to cut my dental floss to just the right size...and he looks like he might know a thing or two about dental care.

Retro Valentines

These retro valentines are absolutely adorable and I couldn't resist sharing them here. They really bring back memories from when I was a kid and I forgot how much I enjoyed choosing valentines for every child in my class. I know I got my fair share of classic kitschy valentine's day cards like these in return too! These ones are available for $8 from Fred Flare.

Bombs Away Necklace

This Bombs Away Necklace comes in your choice of gold or gun metal and features a beautiful and detailed bomb with wings! This amazing design was created by Kitsch 'n' Kouture's Leslie Homan.

The Telescope Walking Stick

This Telescope Walking Stick may not have been created in the spirit of steampunk but it certainly fits! It serves a dual purpose by being not just a cane to help you walk with (and making you look rather dapper while you do) but also being a telescope so when you need to take a rest you can screw on the telescope bit to study the stars.

Fish and Elephant Wicker Laundry Hampers

These wicker laundry hampers are available in the adorable fish and elephant styles pictured below. That fish is all too anxious to receive my dirty laundry standing there with his mouth agape! I love these things.

Milk and Bread Ring

This Milk and Bread Ring by Melanie Favreau looks like a bread tie and you can have your own date put on it! I think it would be a great birthday gift (with the person's birthdate on it) or a really creative anniversary gift (don't forget to keep THAT loaf of bread fresh!).

Glow Beadwork Kit

This Glow Beadwork Kit from the Maker Shed allows you to make glowing jewelry and illuminated patches to sew onto your clothing. You create circuits by sewing with conductive thread (yay for no soldering! I'm accident prone.).

Can You Hear Me Now?

This steampunk cellphone concept looks pretty neat! Instead of dialing out, you would make your calls with binary-coded punch cards and it has a lot of fun steampunk aesthetic elements.

Gloomy Death Cake T-Shirts and Gifts

This adorable death cake design features a cute and cartoony gray slice of cake with a tiny skull resting on top of it. Do you dare eat this cake? It looks a little sketchy if you ask me but it's delightfully gloomy...go on and have a bite! I bet it tastes like rainbows.
This design is available on t-shirts, mousepads, greeting cards, coasters, tote bags, stickers, buttons and many more great gift ideas! Beware the cake!

If Other Artists Drew The Mona Lisa

This post by Meowza Katz of aviary.com shows us what the Mona Lisa might look like if she happened to be painted by other artists including Matt Groening, Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, Jackson Pollock and more. It's absolutely brilliant. Check it out!

Pylones Robot Time-Out Kitchen Timers

These Pylones Robot Time-Out Kitchen Timers dance and play a samba tune and have really adorable expressions on their faces! I think my favorite would have to be the pirate robot one linked below.

Remote Control T-Rex

This Remote Control T-Rex would be so much fun to play with especially for fans of dinosaurs and remote control toys! This surely would have been on my list to Santa Claus when I was a kid. Heck, it IS on my list to Santa. Wherefore art thou, Santa?

Bite The Bullet Game

The Bite The Bullet game may be made of chocolate but it's serious business.
One of the chocolate bullets contains "hellishly h-h-hot chilli" and when you roll the dice you never know which one you're going to get! A game that's not for the faint of heart but I also wouldn't want certain people I know who are completely immune to the effects of hot chili to play either (you know who you are!). Where's the fun in that? Oh, I guess they would find it to be pretty amusing if I happened to be the one to bite the wrong bullet. :P

Wacky Bandages

I'm pretty fond of novelty products and novelty bandaids are no exception! These wacky bandages come in all sorts of designs including assorted tattoos, bacon!, lips, and toast. I've heard of some pretty strange home remedies but I've never heard of putting bacon or toast on a wound to make it heal faster...but I really like toast so I'd be willing to give it a try. They all have a free toy inside too!!! (Yes, I'm still swayed by that type of thing.)

Full Moon by Sotirios Papadopoulos

This Full Moon credenza by Sotirios Papadopoulos is stunning and it really glows! This is a great way to bring the night sky into your room.

Sweet.

I've recently discovered that some people have been showing some love for my Christmas Cupcake Design recently! I'd like to say a big thank you to Cupcakes Take The Cake and Retro Bakery for featuring me. I love you guys!

I'd also like to say thank you to Cafepress for featuring one of my Twilight Designs in their email newsletter today!

Electric Sheep Screensaver

The Electric Sheep Screensaver is a really great screensaver that was created by Scott Draves. It changes all the time because while you're AFK your computer is interacting with other computers to create interesting art.

When these computers "sleep", the screen saver comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as "sheep". The result is a collective "android dream", an homage to Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.

Kitty Bank

Why should piggies get to look after all of your coins? This portly kitty bank would work just as well and it'll look really cute while it's doing it.

Ninja Throwing Star Magnets

OH YEAH! These shuriken magnets are the coolest! The price is a little steep but in my opinion they're worth it (and much easier and less destructive than trying to use real ninja throwing stars to hold up memos and on your fridge).

Bone Collection Penguin Flash Drive

This Penguin Flash Drive from the Bone Collection is really adorable and he even has a cute little blue scarf to complete his wintery look.

Cats and Mice by Jeff De Boer

These days life is harsh so I certainly wouldn't blame our furry friends if they want to strap on some armor before facing the world. These cat and mouse armor pieces by Jeff De Boer are absolutely incredible, creative and include so much intricate detail.

Russian Doll Pepper Grinder

This Russian Doll Pepper Grinder is beautifully formed and painted in bright, warm orange and red tones. I've always adored matryoshka and babushka dolls and having an adorable and sweet matryoshka doll in my kitchen to add a little spice to my life would certainly brighten my day.

Porcelain Crushed Cans by Lei Xue

I love art that strays from the traditional and though the motif on these porcelain crushed cans by Lei Xue is traditional the concept certainly is not! These porcelain cans are precious treasures that I would never toss out unlike the soda and beer cans that these were modeled after. Maybe we should start rethinking how we see trash?

USB Heated G-Gloves

These USB heated gloves are really cute and I bet they'd be particularly handy during cold winters like the one I'm experiencing now. The weather outside may be frightful but that doesn't mean that you should have to freeze your hands off to check your email!

Phone Box Decor

I don't think it's any secret that I'm a fan of quirky and interesting home accents so you probably won't be surprised that I find these phone box pieces to be so appealing! They were both created by the talented artist Finn Stone who has a real gift for design in my opinion.
The first piece is a chair that's shaped like the top of a phone box and the second is a huge phone box that lights up.

Official Gmail Blog: Get your Gmail stickers

Official Gmail Blog: Get your Gmail stickers

I'm a huge fan of Gmail and this makes me like them even more! Gmail is giving out free stickers to anyone out there and all you have to do is send them a self addressed stamped envelope (or an international reply coupon outside of the U.S.).
They have some pretty cool ones with robots and unicorns (who doesn't like robots and unicorns?) so click here to get them while supplies last!

Fox in Socks Cake

While I was making my post about Cat in the Hat stuff, it got me thinking about this fabulous cake I saw once upon a time. This cake was made by Debbie from Debbie Does Cakes and the detail on it is absolutely incredible. Great airbrushing and the text is right on!

Cat in the Hat Goodies

I don't eat a lot of cookies (I'm a cupcake girl through and through) but if I did, I swear I would buy myself one of these Cat in the Hat cookie jars and it also includes my favorite Cat in the Hat character, the fish!

I'm going to post about a couple strictly fish products that I've found as well. This "Fish in the Pot" Teapot is adorable and it talks too!

The Fish in the Teapot Hat is one of the most bizarre hats I've ever seen but I bet it would top off a Dr. Seuss costume perfectly. Maybe next halloween?
