Retro Gaming For The Garden

These gameboy bricks would make a really interesting accent for your garden or uhh...other outdoor relaxation space. I would love to see some of the other colored ones in action and I think the pale green ones would be particularly beautiful against foliage (possibly even weeds).

Silverfish Aquarium

The Silverfish Aquarium is the coolest aquarium I've ever seen. It has multiple spheres that are connected by little tunnels that sort of remind me of the tunnels in those really elaborate hamster cages (which also happen to be pretty cool looking).

Howl's Moving Castle Papercraft

Wow, look at this Howl's Moving Castle papercraft project from Paperkraft.net! (If you're not familiar with Howl's Moving Castle, it's one of my favorite animated movies by Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli. If you're not familiar with Studio Ghibli perhaps you should watch some of the movies from this list to find out more!)

Cute Matches From Japan

This post about Japanese packaging is pretty neat. I really love the panda matches! So cute.

Sarah Coventry Pins

I don't make many posts about vintage jewelry but I felt that I should after finding these beautiful Sarah Coventry pins. Below is a lucite apple pin (c. 1950) and a "nature's pearl" brooch. I couldn't find a really decent page about the history of Sarah Coventry jewelry but here's a link to their "story" from their site. It seems that women would sell Sarah Coventry jewelry from their homes (like Avon, Mary Kay, etc.) from 1949-1984.

HUGE Ice Cream Lamp

This ice cream lamp is HUGE and fun! Did I mention that it's HUGE? My only complaint is that I'm pretty sure it only comes in white/vanilla right now but that isn't really that important to me. Mmmm lamp.

Raygun Remote Control

I want this so badly! This raygun remote control is the coolest and even though it makes sounds of its own when you change the channel I think it would be just as cool if it was silent...isn't half the fun making your own sound effects? Fuh-SHOOM! FSHOOM-SHOOM! Okay, my sounds effects suck, but you get the idea.

USB Chameleon

I'm just a tiny bit biased since I love lizards but this little USB toy is one of the coolest I've seen. This USB chameleon flicks its tongue at you and rolls its eyes and he just clings to your monitor happily while you go about your business. He doesn't really "do" a whole lot besides entertain you and keep you company (but that's all a USB toy really has to do, right?).

Dinosaur Necklace

You can advertise that you're at the top of the foodchain with this dinosaur skeleton necklace from Tatty Devine!

James The Bookend

James The Bookend is a really neat way to keep your books from falling over. He may seem like he's struggling but I assure you that he has the situation under control.

LED Jellyfish Mood Lamp

This jellyfish mood lamp looks like it would be so relaxing to watch. I love the soft glow and the beautiful colors...I could almost fall asleep just thinking about watching it. Man, that's pretty effective!

10 Best Apocalyptic Vehicles

Wired has posted a list of their picks for the 10 Best Apocalyptic Vehicles. Keep this page bookmarked in case you have to pick out an apocalypsemobile superfast to escape some zombies or something (or maybe just take a look at the list and be amused).
Number 6 gave me a chuckle. :)

Crocheted Guns

Inger C. from "Hello Craft Lovers!" made these very cool starched crocheted guns for her flickr pool called Starch it!

Boomwire Glass

Boomwire Glass has some really amazing lampwork beads like these hearts and incredible lizards. I'm a sucker for shiny, iridescent things and these are just so beautiful.

Message in a Bottle Kit

This message in a bottle kit from the Victorian Trading Co. would be a great project for anyone who lives by a large body of water! The kit even comes with a cork and wax so you can seal the bottle up tightly and I really love that they opted to do it that way instead of just giving you a screw on cap.
This would be a great project to do with kids (especially kids that are old enough to play with the sealing wax) or a unique gift for friends or penpals! ($11.95 each or two for $19.90)
