These font celebrities (Charlie Chaplin and James Dean pictured below) are pretty interesting and if you look long enough you start to see some font details you may not have noticed at first glance. Very very creative!! It's amazing how some people use fonts as an art expression.
I agree! These actually remind me so much of the ascii art that I used to marvel over when I got online for the first time.
Yes you are right, it's similar (but more beautiful) to ascii art. That still is very funny to use.
